braces payment plans

Most of us, if not all of us dream of having a rare and perfect smile, one that sets the room in awe whenever we walk in and flash out a smile. Smiles are a form of expression, used to express our feelings, and thoughts and complement our interactions. However, for most of us, the reality of a perfect smile is far from being achievable, mainly due to our teeth. Defects with teeth such as misalignments, occlusion and misshaped teeth are some enemies of this dream. We at Nairobi Sterling Dental Clinic, are now offering a chance to make your dream smile achievable, through our affordable braces plans.

Types of Braces

Braces come in various forms, including traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, and clear aligners such as Invisalign. Each type offers unique benefits and considerations, catering to different preferences and treatment needs. Here is a deeper look at these types, and their specifications.

  • Metal or traditional braces – are made of metallic material. They have a bracket attached to the front side of teeth or bands that fit around each tooth. They also have flexible wires or archwires to hold the brackets or bands together and into position. Some may also include a rubber band to link the brackets to the wire, while also increasing the pressure on the teeth.
  • Ceramic braces – They are a special form of traditional braces, only that they are made of ceramic that matches tooth colour. This helps lower the conspicuousness of the braces and make them less noticeable. Apart from ceramics, they can be made from steel or clear material.
  • Lingual braces – These are braces whose brackets are fitted on the back side of teeth, facing the tongue. They are less noticeable as compared to other types, but more uncomfortable and harder to maintain.
  • Clear aligners – They are also called invisible braces. These are clear plastic trays that fit snugly onto teeth. They are removable and should be taken off when eating, brushing, or dental flossing. We advise our clients to wear them for at least 22 hours a day for them to work well.

How braces work

Regardless of the type, braces work by applying gentle, controlled pressure to gradually shift teeth into their desired positions. The pressure mounted on the upper part of the tooth is reflected on the root and membrane holding the tooth to the jaw. This causes a gradual shift, to allow the tooth to mitigate the pressure caused. It is however a slow process and may take some time before the perfect positioning is obtained. Additionally, this process involves regular adjustments by an dentist to ensure optimal progress and results.

Treatment duration

The duration of braces treatment varies depending on factors such as the severity of the misalignment, patient compliance, and the type of braces used. On average, treatment can range from several months to a few years. Braces are specialised treatments, and each patient’s journey, results and duration differs from the other. However, younger people, such as kids and teenagers take lesser durations. This is mainly due to the fact that their bones aren’t fully developed, and are a bit softer, as compared to adults. Hence, they have a relatively faster shift and positioning is achieved faster.

Cost of Braces

At Nairobi Sterling Dental Clinic, the quality of service is not the only thing we are best at providing, but so are our friendly costs of services. We pride ourselves on having the best services, at the most friendly costs without compromising on quality. We also have some of the cheapest cost of services among clinics in Nairobi and its environs.

The cost of braces at our clinic is Ksh.75,000 per jaw and Ksh.150,000 for both jaws. To ensure easy access to this service, the clinic’s management has put in place a flexible payment plan for braces. Patients can now pay for 50% of the total treatment cost at the start of the treatment period. The remaining  50% of the cost can be paid during the course of the treatment period. This deal allows patients to get access to braces at half the cost and plan an efficient way to meet the remaining costs. Furthermore, it also eases the burden of treatment and allows them to pay at their convenience.

In addition to this, to further ease the cost of braces for our patients, we have partnered with various insurance companies in Kenya, that offer dental plans in their policies. Patients insured by these companies can now get access to services related to braces such as consultation, X-rays and cleaning. It however doesn’t cater for the braces themselves. Our insurance partners are reliable and trustworthy companies, with reputable insurance conduct and services. Our partnerships are changing the dynamics of access to braces and other dental services, for the better.
